With 500 employees worldwide, Nabertherm has been developing and manufacturing industrial kilns and furnaces for a wide range of applications for over 70 years. As a manufacturer, Nabertherm probably has the widest and deepest range of ovens in the world. 150,000 customers in over 100 countries around the world prove the company’s success. Nabertherm stands for highest quality “Made in Germany”, modern design based on State-of-the-Art technology and a convincing price/performance ratio.

Professional engineering in combination with in-house production allows for the planning and construction of customer-specific thermal processing systems, tailored to the customer’s application. Many processes can already be represented with a furnace from the standard range. Complex thermal production processes are implemented using tailor-made system solutions.

Industry

Fiber Optics / Glass

Nabertherm offers a wide range of products for the production of glass and fiber optics. From cooling/stress relieving of glass, to curing coatings to tempering quartz glass, you will find the right furnace model for your process with us. We are happy to help you choose from our wide standard range of top hat or bottom loading furnaces, bogie hearth furnaces, chamber furnaces, fusing furnaces, high temperature furnaces or chamber dryers. Do you have special requirements for the furnace system? With more than 70 development engineers, we will certainly find a suitable solution for your process.

Thermal Process Technology

Tempering, carburizing, annealing, hardening and quenching, solution annealing, forging, curing, preheating, drying, ageing – these are only some of the applications which are possible with our extensive program of furnaces and plants. From the compact hardening furnace to fully-automatic plants with conveying technology and process documentation, we will certainly find the right furnace for you.

If none of our standard furnaces is suitable for your application, we are sure to work out a customized solution for your heat treatment with one of the largest development departments in the furnace industry.

In the following we distinguish the area of thermal process technology into processes that take place in air and processes that take place under protective gases, reaction gases or in a vacuum.

Processes under air

Nabertherm offers a wide range of graduated solutions for the heat treatment of materials in air. This area clearly presents the different furnace concepts that can be used for the various processes. Depending on the process requirements, adapted solutions for heat treatment including quenching can be offered. The furnaces can be either electrically heated or gas-fired.

Processed under protective or reactive cases or vacuum

Generally, metals are heat treated under protective or reaction gases or in vacuum to prevent or minimize oxidation of the components. Nabertherm offers an extensive range of graduated solutions for the heat treatment of metals. This area provides a description of the different furnace concepts and the accessories that are available for the different processes.

Advanced Materials / Technical Ceramics

For Advanced Materials, Nabertherm offers interesting solutions for numerous applications in technical ceramics, powder metallurgy, fuel cell production and other innovative areas of application – including for ceramic 3D printing. The electrically or gas-heated furnaces are available for operation in air, in a protective gas atmosphere or under vacuum. Most of these furnaces can also be equipped for clean room processes. From the small laboratory furnace to the fully automatic combi furnace system for debinding and sintering in one process inclusive exhaust gas cleaning (thermal/catalytic), we are sure to find a solution for your needs. With our wide range of standard furnaces, we can offer cost-effective concepts. With one of the largest engineering teams in the furnace industry, however, we can offer various standard extras or, if necessary, customer-specific systems tailored to your needs. We look forward to developing them together with you.

Additive Manufacturing

Additive manufacturing has been established in many areas in recent years. Using 3D printing, objects made of metal, plastics, ceramics, glass, sand or other materials are built up in layers until they have reached their finished shape. Additive manufacturing is a very innovative market, which underlines the number of different manufacturing processes. Many of these processes require a subsequent heat treatment of the manufactured components. The requirements for the heat treatment furnace depend on the component material, the working temperature, the atmosphere in the furnace and of course the additive manufacturing process.

With our long term experience and one of the largest engineering teams in the furnace industry, we are your reliable partner for the development and construction of your heat treatment system.

In additive manufacturing, a distinction is made between printing with and without binder. Depending on the manufacturing process, different furnace types are used for the subsequent heat treatment.

Foundry

From electrically heated or gas-fired melting furnaces to dewaxing furnaces or core drying ovens to fully automatic quench and temper systems for aluminum or steel, we professionally cover the requirements of the foundry industry. Information on the furnaces for heat treatment can be found in Thermal Process Technology.

With our long term experience and one of the largest engineering departments in the furnace industry, we would be very pleased to work with you and find a solution tailored to your needs.
